Surf and Turf Beef Steak with Black Tiger Prawns

Surf and Turf recipe for juicy beef steak with garlic and lemon grilled Black Tiger prawns. As a side dish, there is a delicious Chantré-port-wine-shallot-sauce and curly fries and croquettes. Depending on your taste, add two slices of grilled bacon.

 2 Beef Steaks à 200 g
 4 Giant Black Tiger Prawns
 8 Cloves of garlic
 3 Shallots
 2 Red onions
 1 Lemon
 Chantré (Brandy)
 Port wine
 Sea-salt
 Freshly ground black pepper
 Oil for searing
Optional
 4 Slices of bacon
 Red / blue cress for garnish
 Fresh chilies or chili powder

For the Chantré-port-wine-shallot-sauce

Peel the shallots, red onions and garlic cloves. Then cut everything into medium-sized pieces with a sharp knife.

Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions, shallots and garlic. Deglaze with Chantré and reduce the heat. Bring to the boil and add about 200 ml of port wine. Simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes until you get a reduced and slightly thick sauce.

For the Beef Steaks

Dab the beef steaks dry and brush a steak pan with a little oil and heat. Add the beef steaks to the pan and sauté from both sides for 1 to 2 minutes.

When the steaks are ready, place in a small saucepan with the lid closed.

For the Black Tiger Prawns

Finely chop a few cloves of garlic.

Heat oil in a pan. Dab the Black Tiger prawns dry and sauté in the pan on both sides at medium heat until they are pink.

Then deglaze with Chantré and add the juice of half a lemon to the pan and let it simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Preheat the plates. Remove the beef steaks from the pot, arrange on the plates and drizzle with the gravy. Season steaks with black pepper and coarse sea salt.

Serve with some herb butter and 2 Black Tiger prawns as well as the Chantré-port-wine-shallot-sauce and a slice of lemon.
